Who are our services intended for?

Students with specific learning disorders

A student, whose dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysorthography, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, or often concomitant attention deficit disorder, objectively prevents him/her from fulfilling his/her academic requirements in a standard manner. Difficulties with reading fluency, illegibility of handwriting, pace of writing, orientation in the text, time estimate, specific errors in reading and writing, etc.

Looking for a quiet place to study? Use our special computer room!

The computer room is designed as a quiet zone where you can work on your assignments, prepare your seminar papers, study or relax. In addition, you will find there special equipment that will make your work easier:

  • Two computers equipped with special software and hardware; each computer is connected to a desktop scanner, which allows faster and easier scanning and conversion of learning materials and other documents.
  • ClearView desktop magnifier with voice output
  • Camera with text reading and recognition software
  • ZoomText magnifier/reader
  • JAWS Screen Reader
  • OCR program ABBYY FineReader for converting of paper documents to text

The computer room is located on the 3rd floor of the TBU Library.

Students with special needs can use the computer room free of charge. The only thing they have to do is book a date and time convenient to them.
